Real Estate Mogul Stanley Chera Passes Away

Stanley Chera, a top New York real estate mogul, lost his battle to Covid-19 on Saturday. The 78-year-old was advised by President Trump, his longtime friend, to shelter in his Jersey Shore home to avoid the virus. However, it was too late, as he was rushed to the hospital in late March, where he passed away. Chera began his career by buying the buildings that held his family’s chain shoe store locations. This led to the creation of Crown Acquisitions. They now owned prominent New York City properties such as The St. Regis New York and the Cartier Mansion.

In 2008, Crown Acquisitions solidified a deal with the White House’s senior adviser Jared Kushner. Crown Acquisitions and the Carlyle Group took a stake in the retail portion of 666 Fifth Avenue.

Chera also recently introduced the President at the New York City Veteran’s Day Parade, held last November. Trump referred to him as his “dear friend.”
